Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox's parents include Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox won a scholarship award to attend London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. She managed to make it on her student stipend as she worked part-time. Lennox believed that her abilities aren't the same as her Royal Academy classmates. So she thought about alternative paths she could take. Lennox played flute in a band named Dragons Playground in 1976. The group broke up prior to their appearance in I.T.V's talent program New Faces. The singer was lead vocalist for The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. It was during this time that she came across Dave Stewart with whom she would form the pop duo Eurythmics.
